DISORIENTATION ORIENTATION

This first week being a YAV has been amazing. We began at Stony Point which is an intentional living community for people who practice different religions and want to live amongst each other. In our first days at Stony Point we discussed at length systemic racism and how they affect society today. This was a very intense and enlightening conversation especially since most of us will encounter these issues during our year living in new communities. After an amazing time of getting to know all 60 of the other YAVs and learning more about our call to serve others, Carson and I have made it to Bogota, Colombia! We will be here at orientation with our site coordinator Sarah till Friday then we are off for another week of classes in Barranquilla. We have already met so many people that are enthusiastic about education and the rights of all Colombians. Praying for the hope and enthusiasm to continue! Hasta luego!
